Mission

At The BLOOM ColleQtive

Our mission is to cultivate meaningful relationships through thoughtfully curated experiences that spark joy, deepen connection, and nurture community.

We envision a vibrant “third space”—one that exists beyond home and work—where members can gather, play, create, and simply be. A space where laughter flows easily, conversations run deep, and connection feels natural.

Events are primarily on Chicago’s South Side, we intentionally create spaces where Black queer women and nonbinary folks can connect, thrive, and celebrate themselves fully. Every gathering is designed with care—centering softness, joy, and the power of being in community with people who truly see you.

Together, we are building more than events—we are cultivating a home. A place where our stories are honored, our identities are affirmed, and our presence is celebrated.

Welcome to The BLOOM ColleQtive —

Where identities flourish and community blossoms.

Who we are

The BLOOM ColleQtive is a social community for Black queer women and nonbinary folks in Chicago, created to make connection feel easy, intentional, and real.

Born from the desire to find community in a new city, BLOOM brings people together through curated events designed to spark joy, conversation, and lasting connections.

What started as a personal longing has grown into something collective.

Our gatherings are intentionally curated to spark joy, conversation, and community. We create a “home away from home”—a space where you can show up as you are, share your experiences, engage in playful activities, and build meaningful, lasting connections.

Whether you’re looking to make new friends, expand your network, or simply be in good company, BLOOM offers a space where connection feels natural—not forced.

Come to a BLOOM event and leave the missed connections behind.

Think of The BLOOM ColleQtive as your favorite after-school activity—joyful, grounding, and filled with familiar faces and new energy each time.
