The BLOOM ColleQtive was created to make room for more of those moments—the kind where you walk into a room not knowing exactly what to expect and leave feeling like you found your people.
We’re building a vibrant third space for Black lesbian/queer women and nonbinary people to gather and connect authentically. A place to meet someone new, laugh a little too loud, try something different, flirt, dance, create, explore the city, or simply exist in a room where you don’t have to explain yourself.
Through thoughtfully curated experiences, we create opportunities for connection to happen naturally. Some gatherings are big and lively. Some are intimate and slow. Some are completely unexpected. But each one is rooted in the same belief: there is something powerful about being surrounded by people who see you, get you, and make space for you to be fully yourself.
BLOOM is about more than events. It’s about cultivating a sense of belonging—one experience, one conversation, one new friendship, and one unforgettable night at a time.

Who we are
BLOOM is a social Events community for Black, Lesbian/queer women and nonbinary folks, creating intentional opportunities to gather, explore, play, and connect.
From lively nights out to intimate gatherings and unexpected adventures, our experiences are designed to make connection feel less intimidating and a lot more natural. Over the last two years, we have hosted happy hour mixers, movie & game nights, beach days, themed parties, coffeeshop meetups/mixers, co-working days, yoga/wellness events, field trips, and more.
We think of BLOOM as a home away from home — and maybe a little like your favorite after-school activity. You know the feeling, you show up, see a few familiar faces, meet someone new, get a little silly, stay longer than you planned, and leave already looking forward to the next time.
Whether you’re looking to make new friends, expand your network, or simply be in good company, BLOOM offers a space where connection feels natural—not forced.

As a Black lesbian, from the South, I’ve always known what it feels like to crave spaces where you can be fully yourself.
I couldn’t always find it. So I decided to create it.
I started The BLOOM ColleQtive because I wanted the kind of community I was searching for — a place where walking into a room alone didn’t mean staying alone. Where meeting someone new didn’t have to feel awkward or forced. Where Black queer women could come together, have a good time, and hopefully leave with a new friend.
What started as a personal longing for choosen family, has grown into something collective.
Today, BLOOM brings women together through thoughtfully curated experiences that make room for and center joy, play, conversation, exploration, and genuine connection.
Every time someone tells me, “I came by myself and left with a new friend,” or “I always meet someone new at BLOOM,” I’m reminded why I started this in the first place.
I was looking for my people.
Turns out, a lot of us were looking for each other.
